South Tyrol Slopestyle Tour 2009 for Skiers

8.2.2009

Just like every year the VITAMIN F Freestyle Club, the Free Ride Club Val Gardena and the Freestyle Club Alta Badia organise the „South Tyrol Slopestyle Tour for Skiers“.

The “Twin-Tip” generation is new on our slopes. They embody the New School of Freestyle. Slowly but surely it has become a new trend which has truly moved masses of teenagers.
The quick development of the jumps in their form, style, height and width has reached infinite dimensions. Nearly incredible turns (spins) and positions (grab style) meet the Freestyle and form the New School.
Only one thing has remained the same: the passion for ski sport. It was passion which brought Old School as well as New School forward and it is the foundation of all developments. The old and the young meet somewhere on that common ground. Freestyle is free in its movement and in addition open-minded and tolerant in its spirit.

The South Tyrol Slopestyle Tour 2009 for Skiers offers all teenagers a platform to get to know this kind of sport and to compete against others.
Slope Style is a form of competition which derives from snowboarding and free skiing. A show-jumping course with various obstacles (Jumps and Rails) has to be passed through in one run and is then rated by a jury.

Everyone between 9 and 17 is eligible for the 4th annual South Tyrol Slopestyle Tour 2009 for Skiers at which all requirements of the standing orders quoted at www.slopestyltour.it have to be complied. The winners await various prizes from well-known sponsors.

„Almabtrieb“ in San Vigilio

At the end of September 2008

At the end of September more than 200 animals return from the mountain pastures of Marebbe/Enneberg back down to the valley to their home farms. The animals are adorned with bells, wreaths and fresh flowers and everybody in the village gathers to celebrate and watch the return of the cattle. The dairymaids hand out sweet pastries called “Canifli” and in the village centre you can enjoy food and drinks as well as folk music to dance to.
The exact date of this event depends on the weather conditions and since it is an authentic occasion of rural life it cannot be planned in advance.
For further information please contact the tourist office in San Vigilio di Marebbe, tel. 0039 0474 501037, info@sanvigilio.com
